Remote Counseling Resources
Parras Counseling During Closure
The Parras Counseling team is committed to providing your student with social-emotional support and counseling services during school closure. These services will be provided remotely in the following manner:
All students will need to add the Parras Counseling During Remote Learning Google Classroom. The class code is: pbfsayb
Your student will need to commit to checking their RBUSD email, as well as the Google Classroom for counseling lessons, updates, and appointments.
Individual counseling services will be provided via RBUSD Google Meet-up. Students will be able to sign up for a time slot for video counseling services by signing up here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/Parrascounseling Counselors will be available to meet remotely with students for 20 minute sessions Monday-Thursday from 8:00 a.m.-2:40 p.m., and Fridays from 8:00 a.m.-1:10 p.m. These services will be available from Wednesday, March 18th through Friday, April 3rd.
Please note that while counseling services on the RBUSD Google server are considered FERPA compliant, they do not meet the standards for being compliant with HIPAA. Therefore, a mental health resources community list will be provided to parents in the event that their student may need assistance beyond what the school counselor can provide remotely.
Pursuant to California ed code 49600 - 49604, all counseling sessions of a personal nature shall be kept confidential, unless information is disclosed that indicates a student is planning on harming themselves, someone else, or someone is harming them.
Counseling Lessons will be going out on a weekly basis to support students with their social-emotional health and well-being, academic and college-career planning, and other relevant topics to support them during this time. Please encourage your student to access the Parras Counseling During Remote Learning Google Classroom for these lessons.
We know this is a difficult time for everyone and we are committed to offering continued support to you and your student(s).
