8th Grade Registration

2026-2027 Course Selection

Before the course selection window opens, all 6th and 7th grade students watched a voiceover PowerPoint in Advisement outlining next year’s courses and explaining the selection process. The presentation is also linked here:

Below are some important reminders about our Course Selection process.

  • Students may select to take an Honors ELA and/or SS course.
  • Recommended intervention classes e.g. Math Development may replace electives.
  • Some elective requests must be accompanied by applications to be considered for the class. Applications can be found at parrasmiddle.org and are linked below. Applications are due by April 3rd at 3:00 PM.
  • Applications must be submitted through the student account. (A parent account will not have access)

ASB Application

AVID Application

Yearbook Application

Video Production

TA Application (for 8th grade only)

  • Students are asked to submit a maximum of two specialty applications
  • Students will be asked to pick a first elective choice. You may select ONE yearlong elective OR one semester-long elective.
    • Semester long electives are subject to change based on scheduling and staffing needs. Semester-long electives will be paired randomly. However, students who indicate a preference for a specific elective will be given priority, as much as the schedule allows, to be enrolled in it during one of the semesters.
