Check each category and division guidelines here and detailed rules here.
This year’s theme is I Belong!. Entries are judged based on their artistic merit, creativity and, most importantly, on their theme interpretation - e.g. What does “I Belong!” mean to you?
Winners at the school level can advance to council, district, state, and national levels, allowing young artists to be recognized and spotlight their talents.
- All entries will be judged by professionals in the field!
- All entries will also be included in the Parras Virtual Reflections Gallery and displayed on campus!
- All students who enter will be invited to the Reflections Ice Cream Social during Advisement!
Additionally, all participants will be recognized at a PTSA meeting in the Spring. We look forward to celebrating your creativity!

Important Notes:
- Only new pieces of artwork inspired by the theme may be submitted. Each entry must be the original work of one student only. An adult may not alter the creative integrity of a student’s work. Because the program is designed to encourage and recognize each student’s individual creativity, help from an adult or collaboration with other students is not allowed except in the Accessible Arts Division. Only one student may be recognized as the award recipient for each entry.
- Rules by Category can be found here. Please disregard the Current Student Packet and Participant forms for each category. Entries will only be accepted through the Parras Entry Form. (Apologies for any confusion!)
- How Judging Works: Artworks are submitted first to school-level PTAs, where they are first recognized, celebrated, and judged by grade-level divisions. The Accessible Arts division welcomes students of all ages and offers division-specific accommodations to ensure that every student has the chance to participate fully in the program. Local PTA unit winners are sent to council, and council winners, to district for consideration. The final artworks submitted to California State PTA by districts are then considered for Outstanding Interpretation, Awards of Excellence, or Awards of Merit. Outstanding Interpretation and Award of Excellence entries then go on to represent California in the final National PTA judging round. The school-level Reflections Chair will notify participants of the outcome of the judging and inform award recipients about next steps.
Entries are due by October 15 2025.
