Cultural messages, often fueled by social media, feed teens' deepest insecurities and encourage them to believe that they "don't measure up." For both girls and boys, the impossible pursuit of perfection is identified as a big risk factor for anxiety, depression, eating disorders, drug and alcohol use, and a host of other issues.
