School Counselors

Parras Middle School is lucky enough to have two and a half counselors. The student population is divided into caseloads based on the first letter of the student's last name. Counselors are in Monday-Friday from 7:40 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Appointments are encouraged, see biographies below.

A-K:  Rachel Andrews    

Hi!  I'm Rachel Andrews and this is my tenth year at Parras Middle School.  I work with students whose last name starts with A-K.  I have my Masters Degree in Counseling and Pupil & Personnel Services Credential from Loyola Marymount University, and I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from University of California, Santa Barbara.  I also have my GATE Certification from University of California, Irvine. My hobbies include going to concerts, watching movies, spending time with my baby, cooking, reading, playing with my dog, and being outdoors. L-Z:  Lisa MacMillan       

Hello!  I am Lisa MacMillan and I am thrilled to be returning to Parras Middle School after living in Germany for the past several years.  I am assigned to work with students whose last name begins with the letters L-Z.  I earned both my Masters of Science and Bachelors of Science degrees from California State University, Long Beach.  I earned my Pupil and Personnel Services Credential from California State University, Sacramento.  I am also AVID certified and a bilingual Spanish speaker.  I love spending time with family and friends, traveling and learning about different cultures, cooking and crafting.  Please do not hesitate to contact me at or call me at (310) 798-8616 ext. 3711.  I look forward to working with your student.


 Curriculum Counselor: Ashley MacDonald  

Hello! I’m Ashley MacDonald and I am thrilled to join Parras Middle School as a Curriculum Counselor running the Project ALERT drug prevention program for 7th and 8th grade students. I have my Masters Degree in Education & Human Development with an emphasis in School Counseling from The George Washington University. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Communications with a minor in Spanish from UC Santa Barbara, and I also hold a Pupil Personnel Service Credential in School Counseling. My hobbies include spending time with friends and family, reading, traveling and going for long walks on the weekend with my husband, daughter and dog.  I am at Parras on Mondays, Tuesday and alternating Wednesdays and at Adams Thursdays, Fridays and alternating Wednesdays.
